I'm really bad! But I can't believe it's the last day of July. Where has the summer gone? Washed away by all the rain we've been having. This has been the strangest summer but it finally feels like summer. The kids have finally had a chance to go swimming but nearly every day we've had rain.
So, what have I been doing with my summer? I spent the majority of it editing. And submitting. I now have four stories out there in the world, 2 short stories and 2 full length. I'm trying to be patient. I had planned on spending the entire summer editing but finally I couldn't deal with it. I needed something "new". So now I'm basically editing. Well, sort of. I've decided to take Dreamer's Sea and completely refashion it. It will hardly look like the original when I'm done. It's going to be far more paranormal than it originally was. A few more ghosts, a curse, a little folklore and legend. Fun for all! Just having a hard time getting going with it.
Maybe it's because all my energy is being sucked up by work. Our conversion hasn't been going so well and we haven't been able to enter any orders for nearly a month and wow the work is piling up. This is one of the absolute worst times for me not to be able to be productive. While I'm trying not to let this bog me down it's a little hard when I have to walk by the piles of work waiting for me. I see lots of overtime in the future.
Today through Sunday is the local county fair. My DD will be showing her chicken, Bubbles, there. Should be fun. I'll have to sneak away and watch the horse show and remember my glory days when I showed my horse at that fair.
Hmm... that could be a premise for a new story.Labels: chickens, editing, work work work |
Our county fair has been this week - it ends tomorrow!
That's great you have stuff out to editors - you'll get good news soon! I haven't heard about my novella. The waiting is hard.
Yeah, the summer has gone fast! Unbelievable.
