Late To Bed...Early To Rise
Makes me way too tired to deal with everyday life. Tonight I have to make it a point to go to bed early. Yah right. But I stayed up late to see who won Dancing With The Stars (yeah Helio!!! He is so adorable). But I'm going to pay for this today. Big time. There's nothing duller than what I have to do right now at work.

Anyway, I'm plowing along with Dreamer's Sea and am over 77K now. I think I'm going to go well over 80K.

I really have nothing to say today. Maybe my mind is too comatose to function. So I guess it's just best not to say anything.

Been A While
Since I last posted. I've been a bit busy with work and family thangs. I gave up on my NaNo project. I'm sad, but I'm glad I back to work on Dreamer's Sea. And I have 25K done on a story that I think I can easily continue on with. But first things first. Dreamer's Sea deserves to be finished.

Of course I'm into our busy time at work and I've been encouraged to do overtime. Oh, and I have things to list on Ebay, oh, and because of the holiday I have everyone home which makes it more challenging to get quiet time on the computer.

Currently I'm dead tired and my day has only just begun. No, I'm not going shopping today. I'm not that brave. I'll be at work then come home and do some house cleaning. Joy.

Now its time to do dishes. More joy.

Decisions Decisions
Well, it's been a tough month. While I'm over 25K on my NaNo project, I am really thinking that I should be doing other things, like working on Dreamer's Sea so I can get it out there. It's certainly closer to being done and right now I have to concentrate on getting another manuscript out there.

There are other reasons why I'm thinking of removing myself from this years NaNo race. I've been told that I'll be expected to do overtime and that'll cut into my writing time, I've got so much going on (like I said, it's been a tough month. Lots of stress and family issues) and it makes it hard to focus on this goal.

The good news is that I really like the wip, The Staying Kind. I will continue to work on it. After Dreamer's Sea and my Sweet Forever sequel.

I'm trying to be positive about this and not looking at it as if I'm failing it. Just re-redirecting my creative energy.

Workday Blues
I tell ya.... nothing is sacred. I've had the same computer at work for 4 1/2 years. I've been lucky with it, it does what I want when I want it to. But the powers that be installed some new phone software that doesn't work with some of the computers. So, seeing how I'm not a phone rep any longer, they took away my darling hard drive with its beautiful Windows XP and replaced it was some sub-par thingie that only has Windows (17)98. In the six hours of work it froze and crashed 3 times. How am I supposed to work on the 11K orders that I just got in? I want my XP back.

I only got about 1000 words written today, but Im going to head into the living room with a notebook. If I can stay awake.

I'm up to 20471 words. Yippeee!

A New Week
Okay, so I still have to write about 1800 words a day to finish NaNo. Can it be done??? Sure. If I really put my mind to it. I like the flow of the story, I'm trying to slowly build up the attraction between my hero and heroine. It wouldn't be believable otherwise, given who they are. I still have a lot of unanswered questions but that's my bad. I really didn't plot this one out as well as I should've. So, does my heroine go to live at the hero's house (not sleeping together) or does she go live at her employers house. It's a toss up. The hero would probably like to keep her closer so he can keep an eye on her.

I think I may have to add a little more mystery to her background. Maybe a mysterious death in her past. Hmmm....

Anyway, I have to start getting ready for work in a few. No holiday for our office. And I was a little ill to see the workload I've been dreading arrive. I'll be busy there for the rest of the holiday season.

Oh, and by the way, my word count is nearing 16K.

Another Snag Of Sorts
I'm 11k into my story and I've realized that I have no idea what my hero does for a living. I thought I'd make him chief of police in his tiny town, but maybe I'll make him a teacher. I've got to figure something out because he's getting ready for his first day of work.

Chief of police. Yeah, that'll be it. And I have to get him and the heroine in a scene together. Thus far they've only shared one.

I'm still behind in my word count and thats not good going into the weekend. But I shall rise above! It ain't over til the fat lady sings.

Almost to the 10k Mark
Focus, I need to focus. I'm still behind. But I've been bouncing back and forth between The Staying Kind (my NaNo piece) and the galleys. The galley and the corrections need to be back to my editor by the 16th but I've had a volunteer who is better with punctuation then I am offer to look it over so I can keep going on the NaNo. The weekend is coming and that means less writing. We're heading up to my father in laws on Sunday so that really means no writing. Can I make it up today? I hope. We'll see.

I really do like this story. I'm going to be such a drama queen again. Problems galore for my hero, a tragic past for my heroine. A troubled teen and an aunt who is a bit eccentric. And horses. I'm going to get some horses in my story again. I've missed them.

I hope that I'll have another agent-worthy story when this is all done. I crave getting out into the big bad world of print publishing. It would be so awesome and fulfilling.

Of course having Sweet Forever, and sometime next year Where One Road Leads, in print will help.

Juggling Act
I've been doing NaBlo, which is like NaNo but with a blog. I'm supposed to post every day. I forgot yesterday. I've got too much going on, and I actually went to bed last night just after 9pm, unheard of for me.

Anyway, I'm trying to do both my galley read for Sweet Forever (available now in e-book format at Samhain Publishing and coming in February 2008 in print-so if you want a good, romantic read with an old fashioned, handsome swoon-worthy hero look it up) and I was able to get some NaNo writing done. It's quite the balancing act. Anyway, I'm still behind on the NaNo, but I've got just over 8000 words now. With a deadline of Nov 16th for my galley I don't think I'll have a problem with catching up. I'm liking the story, there's going to be lots of conflict-lots for my poor hero to deal with between his teenage daughter and the mysterious woman working on his aunt's horse farm. Who knows, maybe I'll throw in his ex wife who deserted him and her daughter years before. Maybe not.

Anyhue, it's time to get ready for work. Got to run out and get some milk, which probably means scraping frost off the car. How did late fall get here so quickly? Oh well, I love this time of year.

Just My Luck
Okay, this is a good thing... really. But the timing couldn't be worse.

I just got my galleys back for the print form of Sweet Forever which will be out in FEBRUARY!!! This has to be done ASAP, first priority. That means dropping Nano until it's done. I just wish that it had come to me about 2 weeks ago... or a month from now.

But first things first. I'm DYIN' to see Sweet Forever in print!!!

Oh, by the way, I'm up to 7043 words on my NaNo piece.

Taking A Break
I thought I'd break for a moment and do a blog entry. I've been doing tiny entries over at NaBloPoMo, but nothing much.

Well, I'm up to 5823 now. Still behind, but at least it's coming along. And being Monday I'll have lots more opportunities to write my little fingers off and catch up to where I need to be. I have to write an average of 1767 words a day to get finished. Darn, that number is supposed to be shrinking.

A friend told me to just forget about the word count and just write, that everything will fall into place in the end. Can a writer really ignore that word count? I likened it to a dieter not being able to ignore the scale. I just have to know!

Okay time to get back to writing. I'd be very pleased if I could hit 8000 words today. Actually that's not too difficult. Knock on wood.

Not Such A Productive Day
I had one of those days where I barely got on the computer to do any writing. Luckily I got some writing done during my fifteen minute break at work. I didn't meet my goal so now my daily goal is about 1760 words to complete this. I'm not too worried though. The month is young.

It's a work day today though so I can't dedicate it to writing, but I'll write whenever I get a moment.

Now I need coffee and lots of it.

Oh, I'm at 3021 words.

NaNo Blues
Yeah, I know, its only the second day. I've already bounced from one wip to another. I'm just not liking either one. It doesn't help that I gave myself no prep time for either wip because of the work I've been doing on Dreamer's Sea.

I'm already over 2300 words on the second wip and I guess I'll keep going with it and keep my fingers crossed that something good will happen. I just have to remember IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT I can go back and fix it up after the end of November.

Keep writing Keep writing Keep writing.

Got to keep telling myself that.

Let The Race Begin
That's right folks, it's November 1. And we all know what that means!!!! Nano is here and there's nothing to be done about it but write write write. I've figured my goal for today is to write at least 1667 words. So far that's what I'd have to write to complete the challenge.

Do I feel confident? Heck no! But I never do.

So, this is going to be short and sweet because my blank word doc is waiting for me.

Wish me luck and good luck to everyone who's participating!!! May we all write our 50K stories and may they be good enough to publish!
